Kinesiology Instructor Needed – OSM-Portland

Oregon School of Massage is seeking a Kinesiology Instructor for our Portland campus. OSM is a professional, vocational school licensed by the State of Oregon and the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists. The individual we are looking for is someone with integrated teaching experience (i.e. teaching that engages the student in both objective and subjective aspects of the subject matter), a clinical background as a massage therapist or other health care provider, and additional training or experience in personal growth.

Kinesiology Upper – 30 hours/10 Sessions
Kinesiology Lower – 30 hours/10 Sessions

These courses are the cornerstone of understanding how the human body moves, studying specific muscles (where the originate and insert), joints, actions and learning how they are affected when there are imbalances in the body.

Instructors must be a available for one day class and one evening class, in addition to making themselves available to answer questions during the week by phone, email or text.

Front Desk and Clinic Coordinator – Portland Campus

Oregon School of Massage has an opening for a Clinic/Front Desk Coordinator. This position will be 32-38 hours per week, compensation is $13 per hour plus sick and vacation time, paid holidays and profit sharing options.

The position is responsible for implementing OSM’s student and LMT clinic. This includes scheduling, set-up, confirmation, and check-in of clinic appointments. Other Duties include maintenance of clinic database, creation of clinic flyers and announcements, clinic file creation, maintenance and other duties as needed.

This position is the 1st responder for phones and walk-ins at the front desk. They will regularly check voicemail, ensure the lobby and break areas are clean and well stocked. They will support all Administrative tasks such as registration, maintaining display schedules, route incoming calls and faxes, store transactions, and others as needed or determined by the staff supervisor.

Essential Skills

  • Exceptional customer service, time management, oral and written communication, and organizational skills
  • Professional, discreet, warm demeanor
  • Provide back-up to administrative staff, customer service and store sales.
  • Experience with MS Office; willingness to learn new software
  • Efficient and comfortable working in a busy environment with minimal supervision
  • Multi-line phone experience

Preferred Qualifications
• Understand and model OSM Mission and values, explain OSM’s body/mind/spirit curriculum and operational philosophy
• Knowledge of massage or other healing arts

Seeking Facilities and Front Desk Coordinator – OSM Portland

Reports To: Administrative Supervisor
Hours: 30 – 32 hours per week, Tu – Fr, with occasional Saturdays available
Rate: $13/hr sick time, vacation, and paid holidays

This position is primarily responsible for addressing instructor, staff, and client needs as they relate to space, equipment, and physical assets. This is also a key customer service role, responsible for student registrations, equipment rentals, and cashiering duties.

Job Duties
Facilities and Equipment

  • Monitor facility for appropriateness & cleanliness of space, supplies, and equipment
  • Physical asset management, including light repairs, and inventory database
  • Negotiate and maintain vendor relations between OSM & facility equipment suppliers

Room Set-up

  • Maintain schedule of classes and required room set-up records
  • Organize and maintain classroom set-ups according to instructors’ directions.
  • This includes setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and other equipment as necessary.
  • Coordinate massage practice space and schedule

Administrative / Reception

  • Phone and walk-in customer inquiries
  • Class registrations & drops
  • Event planning
  • Ordering supplies
  • General document creation and filing

Retail

  • Store cashier, opening and closing when necessary
  • Rental reservations for massage tables and chairs

Essential Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Professional, discreet, warm demeanor
  • Experience with MS Office; willingness to learn new software
  • Familiarity with record-keeping and general office functions
  • Exceptional customer service, time management, and organizational skills
  • Efficient and comfortable working under minimal supervision

  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs daily

Preferred Qualifications

  • LMT or massage experience; knowledge of healing arts or healthcare a plus
  • Knowledge of FERPA and HIIPA regulations

LMT Clinic – Portland Campus

Hone your skills, connect with clients, and augment your income at our Professional Clinic.  Oregon School of Massage is seeking recently licensed therapists to provide massage and bodywork sessions working with clients from the local community.

LMT’s will receive an hourly base pay, additional session fee (per massage) and all gratuities. The shift is Fridays from 1:15 pm to 5:45 pm. Within the 4.5-hour shift/week, LMT’s will provide a maximum of 3 one-hour massage sessions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of skill in Swedish bodywork, and may supplement with other modalities as well.

Must be a licensed massage therapist in Oregon with current CPR and professional liability insurance. OSM will provide Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Insurance.

This is a great opportunity for you to begin building your professional clientele base. We ask for a minimum commitment of six months, with the option to renew twice for a total of 18 months. All scheduling, office support, and massage equipment will be provided by OSM. LMT’s must provide their own linens and oils/lotions.
