Massage Certificate for Healthcare Professionals

Oregon Health Endorsement Guidelines for MD, ND, DC, PT, OT, RN, LPN, LAc – 300 hours

The Oregon Board of Massage Therapists (OBMT) offers a health endorsement path to licensing for professionals currently holding an Oregon license in related healthcare fields. The applicant must complete a minimum of 300 hours of Massage Theory and Practical Application, Clinical Practice, Communications and Ethics, Sanitation and Business Development. Hydrotherapy and Kinesiology may be included but Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology classes are not considered towards OBMT requirements. Health Endorsement candidates are eligible to take either the MBLEX or the Practical Exam to become licensed. The board HIGHLY SUGGESTS that applicants take the MBLEX because it is transferable to other states whereas the Practical Exam is not. In addition the Practical Exam is more costly and difficult to schedule since it is no longer required for typical applicants.

OSM’s Massage Certificate for Healthcare Professionals – 335 hours

This certificate program meets all of the OBMT requirements. Flexible class schedule accommodate full or part-time, and day or evening students. The Health Endorsement Option may be completed in as little as nine months. Tuition cost is $6,300.
