640-Hour Oregon Massage Certificate Program

OSM is proud to announce our new 640-hour pre-licensing program, which began in Fall 2015. The Oregon Legislature recently revised our massage statute, effective January 1, 2016, increasing the required training hours for Oregon LMTs to 625 hours. OSM’s 640-hour program meets and exceeds these requirements. This new program is based on the 555-hour program and includes additional palpation, bodywork, and business/communication skills. Students have the option to declare an Eastern or Western focus for their training. The tuition for the 640-hour Program is $11,450.

Flexibility

What makes our program unique is that you can fit classes in around your life; work, personal pursuits, children and more. Our program is made up of a variety of individual classes, so the length of time it takes to graduate depends on a variety of factors; scheduling, flexibility, number of courses and so on.

Length

With flexibility in your schedule and a full-time commitment to school, you can complete in as little as 15 months. However, if you have other commitments and would like to take 1 or 2 classes per quarter, it may take you up to 2 years or more to complete the program.

Weekly Schedule

Each quarter is 10 weeks in length; most classes meet once per week for 3 hours per session, with some exceptions. Elective classes are generally scheduled over an entire weekend, a single Saturday or Sunday and occasional weekday classes.

Homework and Practice Massages

You can expect 2 to 3 hours of reading, practice massages, homework and study for every 1 hour you’re in class.

Below are some examples of how our students may go through the program – these are only a few of the combinations that are available to students.
