Massage Presentations - 1 CEU
"Massage Connections" in Portland and the "LMT Gathering" in Salem are a series of presentations organized by Oregon School of Massage for LMTs and massage students. The presentations are intended as an opportunity to learn about topics of interest and network with fellow professionals. There is no charge for these events. One hour of continuing education (for Oregon massage licensure) will be granted for each of the above presentations. Bring a colleague. Other healthcare professionals are welcome. PREGNANCY AND INFANT MASSAGE with Mary Greenwood and Marybetts Sinclair

Oregon School of Massage - 2111 Front St -Building 3 - SalemThe presentation will cover the basics of both pregnancy and infant massage. We'll discuss benefits, contraindications and extra considerations for the special groups. Demonstrations will include positioning, draping, abdominal massage and stretching. There will be a brief lesson on infant massage. Volunteers Needed - We are seeking expectant mothers and infants (newborn to toddling) who are interested in taking part in the demonstrations. Mary Greenwood, BS, LMT #7810, CNMT
Mary has a degree in Biology from the University of Delaware. She is certified in Neuromuscular Therapy and Advanced Myofascial Techniques. She has experience working with pregnant women as a lay-midwife and has completed an Obstetrics Massage Rotation at OHSU. Mary has advanced training in Pregnancy Massage and Massage in Birthing. In addition to pre-peri-post natal massage, Mary specializes in treatment for injury recovery and prevention, and chronic pain. Mary brings to her work a quiet confidence and skill that ensures her clients are in good hands. Marybetts has been practicing massage in Corvallis since 1975. She has been teaching massage to massage therapists, students and lay people ever since. She has a special interest in adding massage and hydrotherapy to everyone's lives as they care for their friends and family. Marybetts has authored three books on massage therapy: Massage for Healthier Children, Pediatric Massage Therapy and her latest Modern Hydrotherapy for the Massage Therapist. She has taught massage for children with disabilities in the United States, Mexico, and Ecuador. Marybetts teaches Pediatric Massage, Hydrotherapy and Self-care classes at OSM.
