Massage License Certificate Program

Certificate Program

The Oregon School of Massage gears its massage training program to the serious student of bodywork who is preparing for state licensure in Oregon and/or Washington. The training also applies to many other states requirements. Our program offers a flexible schedule with both day and evening classes designed to suit adult students who want to individualize their learning program. A skilled staff provides interdisciplinary massage training that engages the whole person - body, mind, heart and spirit - and supports personal as well as professional growth.

We offer a 555 hour Massage Certificate Program which prepares graduates for licensure in Oregon, Washington and National Certification. The program may be taken with either a Western or an Eastern focus. Graduates are eligible for professional membership in national organizations such as ABMP, AMTA and AOBTA.

Oregon School of Massage accepts transfer students and may award transfer credit towards the program’s licensing requirements. Please call an Admissions Coordinator for more information: Portland Campus 1-800-844-3420; Katherine Harper at the Salem Campus 1-877-585-8912.

Health Endorsement Option

A Career in Massage

A massage career offers many rewarding opportunities to work with people. Massage practices range from personal care service to highly technical corrective work. Success depends on a subtle integration of knowledge, technical skills and intuition, and may require extensive business skills. The rewards often include the independence of self-employment, personal growth and personal healing. Each year brings a greater demand for these natural health care services.

Graduate Services

Many of our students pursue independent practices. OSM's Business of Massage class assists students in developing their business plans. We do not currently offer formal placement assistance, but do maintain a Community Bulletin Board and Graduate E-mail Service where a variety of job requests are posted and/or sent. Clinics, salons and medical offices consistently send ads for LMT positions/openings. We also have a graduate referral service at the school and frequently recommend our graduates to individuals looking for an LMT.

Enrollment Dates

Students may begin training four times a year in Portland and Salem.
