 AAHC
This event is presented by the African American Health Coalition (AAHC). The goal of this organization is to help the African American community get healthier.  All through the year they offer classes and events on exercise, health maintenance, food/cooking, crafts, stress relief, etc.  Learn more about AAHC on their website aahc-portland.org

 AMTA
For about 15 years the Oregon chapter of AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) has been associated with the Coalition and supports their events by donating massages performed by local LMT’s.

 Volunteering To Provide Massages
Leslie Giese, LMT, AMTA member and former chapter chair, volunteers because the African American community is an under served group for massage.  She likes to bring massage to those who have not experienced it and, as with all of her clients, bring connection back to their bodies.

Leslie also notes that there are too few African American LMT’s in our area. By bringing massage to these events she also shows everyone that there is another career out there that is great for helping people.

LMTs Needed
Leslie is coordinating the massage for the event and is looking for more LMT volunteers. Even if available for only a part of the event your contributions will be valuable. To participate, or obtain information, contact Leslie Giese at bodybunch@msn.com.

Oregon Continuing Ed credit certificates will be provided to volunteers.
