Teachers Wanted – OSM-Salem

Oregon School of Massage is seeking instructor(s) for Massage Theory and Communication & Ethics for our Salem campus. OSM is a professional, vocational school licensed by the State of Oregon and the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists. Our Salem campus is located by the Willamette River in NE Salem and holds daytime and evening classes. The person we are looking for is someone with integrated teaching experience (i.e. teaching that engages the student in both objective and subjective aspects of the subject matter), a clinical background as a massage therapist or other health care provider, and additional training or experience in personal growth.

COMMUNICATION/ETHICS – 30 hours/10 sessions
This course is intended as a cornerstone for communication, ethics and boundaries that will be woven throughout the program. Students are honored as life-long learners while exploring the developmental process of communication, boundaries and responsibilities involved in a massage/touch relationship.

This 14-hour training is an introduction to the theory of therapeutic massage and bodywork. The course includes the history, application, and theory behind some of the major Functional, Structural, and Energetic approaches to the body. Each approach will be reviewed in terms of its relationship to the body and body psychology.

Assistant Bookkeeper – Portland

The Oregon School of Massage has an immediate opening for an Assistant Bookkeeper.

Assistant Bookkeeper
24-32 hours per week
$13.50/hr minimum, subject to experience, sick time, vacation time, and paid holidays

This position assists the Bookkeeper at a licensed Career School which focuses on training and supporting holistic massage therapists.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accounts Receivable, including daily deposits, student loan payments, auto-drafts
  • Accounts Payable, including invoices, reimbursements, and credit cards
  • Balance and Reconciliation, including cash clearing account, VA payments, credit card statements, bank statements, inventory adjustments, roster audits
  • Light Collection duties
  • Customer service to employees, students, and vendors as needed
  • Continually strive for a clearer understanding of how Quick Books Financial and POS interact with each other and how to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:
• QuickBooks, POS, and MS Office Suite experience
• Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills
• Exceptional Time Management Skills
• Tactful, confidential, flexible team player

FileMaker experience is a plus. Candidates with an interest in holistic health are desirable. Background of applicants will be thoroughly checked prior to employment. They must meet insurability and bonding requirements.

LMT Clinic – Portland Campus

Hone your skills, connect with clients, and augment your income at our Professional Clinic.  Oregon School of Massage is seeking recently licensed therapists to provide massage and bodywork sessions working with clients from the local community.

LMT’s will receive an hourly base pay, additional session fee (per massage) and all gratuities. The shift is Fridays from 1:15 pm to 5:45 pm. Within the 4.5-hour shift/week, LMT’s will provide a maximum of 3 one-hour massage sessions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of skill in Swedish bodywork, and may supplement with other modalities as well.

Must be a licensed massage therapist in Oregon with current CPR and professional liability insurance. OSM will provide Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Insurance.

This is a great opportunity for you to begin building your professional clientele base. We ask for a minimum commitment of six months, with the option to renew twice for a total of 18 months. All scheduling, office support, and massage equipment will be provided by OSM. LMT’s must provide their own linens and oils/lotions.
