Director of Education – OSM Portland

Oregon School of Massage is accepting applications for Director of Education, with an anticipated start date of early August, 2017.

The Director of Education is a key management position at OSM, responsible for management, professional staffing and coordination of training programs at Portland and Salem campuses. The Director reports to the President. The Director of Education serves on a management team consisting of the President, The Director of Student and Faculty Services, and other key management personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advancement of OSM Mission, values, and goals
  • Curriculum development and supervision
  • Textbook review
  • Faculty recruitment, contracts, supervision, evaluation, and coaching
  • Facilitate coordination of departments involved in student registration and records
  • Develop and implement policies that advance OSM’s missions, values, and goals
  • Resource management and development
  • Liaison to regulatory agencies and professional bodies, ensuring compliance

Essential Qualifications:

  • Management experience in a health-, or education-related field
  • Curriculum development and compliance experience, preferably in higher education
  • Experience in massage or other bodywork
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Genuine interest in holistic health, social responsibility and personal growth
  • Tactful, confidential, flexible team player
  • Practice open, respectful and honest communications
  • Ability to explain body/mind/spirit integration ideas which guide OSM curriculum and operational philosophy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of FERPA and HIPPA regulations
  • Experience with databases and record-keeping; willingness to learn new software
  • Budget development and financial reporting skills

24 – 28 hours per week, Tu – Fr, plus occasional evening or weekend events in Portland and Salem. $20-25/hr plus sick time, vacation time, and paid holidays

Admissions & Student Services Coordinator – OSM-Salem

Oregon School of Massage has an immediate opening at our Salem Campus for an Admissions Coordinator, Student Support, and part-time Admin team member.

The position is 20-24 hours a week. $16 per hour plus sick time, vacation time, and paid holidays. Responsibilities include: handling all new student inquiries, conduct any interviews and tours, helping students with registration and loan application process, conduct Previews, organize and participate in Orientation, be available for student support and coaching including; student schedule planning, academic support and coaching, connect students with counseling and tutoring resources, distribute licensing information, and create quarterly student newsletter. Will perform some front desk coverage, front line phones and customer service to employees and students. In addition, translate OSM values into marketing initiatives including writing assignments.

Assistant Bookkeeper – OSM Portland

Oregon School of Massage has an immediate opening at our Portland Campus for an Assistant Bookkeeper.

The position is 24 hours a week. $13.50 per hour plus sick time, vacation time, and paid holidays. This position assists the Bookkeeper at a licensed Career School which focuses on training and supporting holistic massage therapists. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accounts Receivable, including daily deposits, student loan payments, auto-draft
  • Accounts Payable, including invoices, reimbursements, and credit cards
  • Balance and Reconciliation, including cash clearing account, VA payments, credit card statements, bank statements, inventory adjustments, roster audits
  • Light Collection duties
  • Customer service to employees, students, and vendors as needed
  • Continually strive for a clearer understanding of how Quick Books Financial and POS interact with each other and how to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • QuickBooks, POS, and Office Suite experience
  • Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills
  • Exceptional Time Management Skills
  • Tactful, confidential, flexible team player
  • FileMaker experience a plus

Candidates with an interest in holistic health are desirable.
